Enhancing the Video
You can create a video that has you talking to the audience and nothing else. If you provide quality information, many of your customers will be satisfied with your product. However, if you're in certain niches, they expect more than just watching you. There are things you can add into the video that will enhance the user experience and create a more powerful and useful video.
Adding an Intro
It can be awkward to start a video and immediately see a person talking. You may wonder if you missed something. By adding an intro you let your customers know when the video begins. The problem with many intros is that they have lots of unnecessary elements. The only thing you need in the intro is the titles of the video and possibly the name of the person in the video.
Your customer does not need long intro segments or tons of graphics. However, you do want to create an intro that matches your brand. So you may have your logo, your product colors or other elements that will promote your brand. A watermark logo in the corner of the screen can eliminate the need to flash the logo during the intro segment. With the intro, you want subtle and useful, not flashy.
Adding Images and Text
Some videos can benefit from the addition of images and text. For example, if you're teaching knitting, you may want to show on the screen, a few of the pieces you created. If you don't have them available for display, you can show photos of them. You don't want to show those photos by holding them up in your hand.
The best way to show an image is to use a digital image and add the image to the video clip. If the image is small, you may need to add a background. You can also add a background so that you can add text to the bottom of the image. This text can describe the photo or give information about a product.
Text can also be added to the video. This can help the customer by providing definitions for uncommon words or explain a term or industry jargon. If you created your video from an outline, you may find that you used words that people might not know. Text on the screen can provide that information, so the customer can continue to watch the video and understand what you're talking about.
Adding Screenshots
A screenshot captures images and video from your computer screen. This allows you to show your customers how to use a piece of software or watch while you create something on your computer. There are various ways to capture these images. One of the most popular is a program called Camtasia.
When capturing screenshots you want to record and then edit. You also want to record the audio separately. In editing, you can black-out personal information and skip the parts your customers don't need to see. For instance, no one wants to watch you type information into your browser.
